ITDP-China’s Beijing Parking study commences
ITDP-China has started work on an ADB-funded parking study in Beijing. In the next three months Beijing’s parking problems will be identified primarily based on a study area of around four square kilometres, and recommendations for on-street and off-street parking reform developed. On-street and off-street surveys are planned for the Guomao, Guang’anmen and Andingmen areas in the next weeks. ITDP-China is working together with the Beijing Transportation Research Center, a government agency under the Communications Commission, involved in planning and design of transportation in Beijing, which is keen on following through with implementation of parking reforms in the rapidly redeveloping Guang’anmen area.
