ITDP registered in July 2018 with Beijing Municipal Communication Commission as administration authority. ITDP first established an office in China as a non-profit organization in Guangzhou in 2004.
ITDP China works with city government agencies and planning and design units to provide professional support for the implementation of demonstration projects and policy-making. We mostly work directly on projects, providing technical assistance, training, and strategic communication. Combined with our support on national legislation and policy reform, our work leads to the replication and scaling up of best practice urban transport projects.
ITDP China focuses on Bus Rapid TransitPublic Transport and BRT, Cycling and Walking, Parking, Mobility Pricing and Traffic Demand Management, Sustainable Urban Development, Electrification, policy reform, outreach and capacity building, and promotion of best practices.
Our team includes transport planners and engineers, urban planners, architects, and policy specialists, and a network of leading, international experts. Our extensive national and international resources include technical reports, guides, standards, videos, infographics, and blue papers.
In addition, ITDP China runs a BRT DATABASE of all BRT projects in China,
